Job Title: Analyst, Database I

Position Details:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree. or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree 
  • Required Work Experience: 5 years of IT experience including varied database administration experience.
  • Contract To Hire
  • Will be fully onsite until trained and then 3 days onsite a week and as needed. 
  • Team Name: Statistical Analysis Data Warehouse (SADWH)
  • Hours: M-F 9-5:30 - Occasional after hours and weekends to do maintenance outside of business hours.
  • Required Technologies:  DB2 database management; Strong knowledge of RHEL operating systems; bash ksh
  • Nice To Have:  IIAS, DB2 UDB architecture; implementing security standards (i.e. STIG); User ID management strategies
     

Duties:

Identify and resolve information flow, content issues, and the transformation of business requirements into logical data models. Analyze and develop logical or physical database designs, data models, and relational data definitions in support of corporate systems requirements. •30% Identify opportunities to reduce data redundancy, trends in data uses, and single sources of data. •30% Plan, design, enforce, and audit security policies and procedures that safeguard the integrity of and access to enterprise systems, files, and data elements. Evaluate and recommend security products, services, and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness. •15% Provide management with risk assessments and security briefings to advise them of critical issues that may affect client or corporate security objectives. Perform database backup/recovery responsibilities. •15% Create database objects and make recommendations for adaptation of new technologies or policies. Troubleshoot applications performance problems. •10% Conduct end-user training where applicable. 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of applicable data management programming languages and tools. 
  • Able to identify areas where existing data security policies and procedures require change and need to be developed. 
  • Knowledge of the methodologies and technologies that depict the flow of data within and between technology systems and business functions/operations. 
  • Strong communication and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to configure database parameters and to diagnose and resolve performance problems. 

Required Software and Other Tools: Standard office equipment. Work Environment: Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $35/hour - $54/hour. Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (provided minimum eligibility hours are met).
