Job Title: Analyst, Server

Position Details: 

• Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree. or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree 
• Required Work Experience: 6 years of server or other job related experience. 
• Preferred Licenses and Certificates: Comptia A+, Network +, Security +
• C2 Clearance eligibility is required
• Team Name: Unix System Operations
• Partial Onsite:  At least three days onsite per week and as needed
• Standard Hours: 8 AM – 5 PM - Overtime, on call and weekends will be required as work permits.
• Required Technologies: Unix Operating Systems – Linux (RHEL 8 or higher), AIX, Datapower Applications – Ansible, Centrify, Splunk, GitHub
• Nice To Have: OpenShift, AWS, zLinux, VMWare
• Day to Day:  The typical day would involve providing operational support and maintenance for the Unix platform that supports various BlueCross business applications. We currently have about 700 Unix servers in the environment. Looking for someone who has Ansible automation experience.
• Soft Skills: Attention to detail, ability to effectively communicate with peers and partner IT teams, ability to pivot to multiple tasks, strong troubleshooting skills.
• The Team: Our Team provides Unix infrastructure products and services built and maintained to customer specific requirements. This is achieved through life cycle management which includes administration, security management, operational support, and strategic planning. We strive to provide excellent customer support, operational efficiencies, and technological insight. We support the I/S vision by providing our customers with a secure and reliable environment that limits downtime and meets contractual SLAs, thereby helping them achieve their business strategy. For instance, we support over 300 technologies across three different Unix OS types and utilize In-Place Upgrades to improve operational efficiency.
   

Duties:

• Focuses on server operations across multiple platforms with concentration in providing functional and empirical technical analysis related to the server infrastructure. 
• 25% Analyzes server workload, including traffic and utilization trends. Provides analytical support to team members throughout the development and implementation process. Provides feedback on commonly encountered problems and misunderstandings to enhance user documentation and/or training programs etc. May provide training on hardware and/or software use. 
• 25% Compiles and analyzes operational data and directs tests to assist in establishing standard for new designs or modifications to existing equipment, systems, or processes. Tests and verifies servers and support peripherals to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data. 
• 25% Confers with technical specialists and consults specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system (s). Interfaces with users, consultants, technical teams, and vendors for maximum guidance or on new technology to determine installation requirements. 
• 10% Ensures compliance with audit requirements. Addresses vulnerabilities within audit-mandated time frames. Anticipates and mitigates problems to integrity the security of the system. Maintains effective security/backup and disaster recovery processes and systems. 
• 10% Monitors server performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future. Creates and maintains process and procedure documentation. 
• 5% Keeps knowledge and skills updated to keep up with rapid advancements in server technology. 

Required Skills and Abilities: 

• Advanced technical knowledge of server, communications, and related hardware and software. 
  Strong understanding of technical problems and solutions in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment. 
• Proficiency with server technologies and platforms.

Required Software and Other Tools: Strong understanding of relevant server hardware and software. 

Preferred Skills and Abilities: RAID Storage experience and solid network experience related to custom server configurations. 

Work Environment: Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $50.00/hour - $60.00/hour. Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (provided minimum eligibility hours are met).
