Duties:
- Responsible for analysis, design, programming, and implementation of the most complex applications tasks and projects in the area. Devise feasible, logical procedures to resolve business problems through the use of computer resources. Formulate scope and objectives through research to develop or modify complex systems. Provide technical direction and support in the development and support of business systems software and procedures. Design, code, test and debug the most complex application programs.
- 20% Provide expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. Conceive, design, and implement structures and programs to business systems software.
- 15% Act as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent providing expertise and technical guidance on complex projects. Work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to determine business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Ensure solutions are aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards.
- 15% Provide design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations.
- 15% Perform analysis, design, programming, and implementation on systems and procedures to solve complex business or scientific problems. Develop enterprise-level applications and custom integration solutions. Evaluate complex interrelationships in immediate programming area to determine how changes in one program will affect another related area.
- 15% Develop programming and development standards. Devise new sources of data and develop new approaches and techniques. Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget.
- 15% Provide guidance to lower level programmers/analysts. Lead, plan, organize, and/or coordinate complex projects or phases of large projects. Determine and resolve problems with other systems analysts, programmers, and systems users.

Day To Day: A typical day for a Cloud Lead Developer (LEAD DEVELOPER / IT912) involves leading the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native applications while ensuring alignment with architectural standards and business goals. The day often starts with reviewing code merges and CI/CD pipeline activity using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ensuring that builds and deployments are running smoothly. The developer actively builds and integrates cloud-based solutions using AWS, leveraging services like compute, storage, and serverless functions. They may spend part of the day writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or ARM templates to provision and manage cloud infrastructure in a repeatable and scalable way. Throughout the day, they collaborate with cross-functional teams to design APIs, review architecture, and evaluate modern technologies for future integration. They also play a key role in mentoring junior developers, enforcing coding standards, and ensuring security best practices are followed across all cloud development activities. In addition, they provide expertise regarding the integration of cloud applications, lead the planning, design, and implementation of cloud system software—including coding and testing—and act as an internal consultant, offering technical guidance on complex cloud projects.
Required:
- Full stack software engineering development experience for Java/Java EE ecosystems with Spring Framework & JPA and JavaScript frameworks.
- Agile & Medicare Experience
- Hand-on experience with AWS Cloud or Azure and lift-and-shift or re-platforming projects.
- Work with cloud architects to resilient, High Availability (HA), and fault-tolerant systems following the Cloud well-architected framework.
- Required experience with mTLS, certificate lifecycle management, identity/security best practices
- AWS Cloud or other Cloud Platform Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider is essential for designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications and services.
- AWS Services – EC2, Lambda, RDS, Aurora, S3, VPC, IAM, EKS/ECS, Dynamo DB, API Gateway, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Secrets Manager
- Setting up log aggregation, tracking, and monitoring using Splunk, CloudWatch, and X-Ray.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Tools – Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation, required for automating infrastructure provisioning and ensuring consistency across environments. Security & Compliance Frameworks (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP)
- CI/CD & DevSecOps Tools – Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Selenium, SonarQube, Synk, AWS CodePipeline or Azure DevOps, Proficiency in setting up and managing continuous integration and deployment pipelines is critical for modern cloud development workflows.
- Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility, remediation and WCAG standards.
Nice To Have:

- Cloud certifications.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS/Faregate or Kubernetes)

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.

Pay Transparency:
- This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $55.00/hour - $70.71/hour W-2.
